Selling is one of the areas that scientists
and engineers find most difficult to come to terms
with, conjuring up images of disreputable characters pushing unsuitable
products at unsuspecting customers. In practice, technical selling
is a complex discipline in its own right. Sales people need to
be both highly educated - often
to PhD level for high-level scientific instrumentation, and to
have excellent interpersonal skills - a combination that is not
always easy to achieve!
Psi-ense can provide a number of options to build sales in both
domestic and global markets.
Sales
distribution
Through our sister company, LOT Oriel, we have built up considerable
experience of sales distribution across Europe in the fields of
photonics and nanotechnology. Where appropriate, we will work
with LOT as a distribution channel. In other circumstances, we
will identify a suitable distributor for your products or services
with representations in defined territories as appropriate.
In-house
sales function
There are situations where the complexity of the products involved
or the high level of customisation or customer interaction required,
means that it is most practical to manage the sales function directly.
Psi-ense will advise you on recruiting the right people for the
job and the training and systems required to maintain a high quality
sales function.
Export
management
A subset of global selling is the logistics required to get your
products to the customer and receive payment in return. The systems
and procedures involved have been fine-tuned over many years,
but can be daunting to the non-expert. Psi-ense will support you
in entering overseas markets to the point that you have sufficient
resources to manage the task yourselves.
